Chongqing Xipeng Aluminium Industrial Zone
¡¡ Chongqing Xipeng Industrial Park was found in January 2003 and approved a characteristic industrial park of Chongqing by the municipal government. In January 2006, it is approved a provincial developing zone by the National Development and Reform Commission. And in October 2007, its name was changed into Chongqing Xipeng Aluminium Industrial Zone. This zone¡¯s planning area is 65 km2; recently the usable area is 30 km2 including established area of Xipeng Industrial Park 2 km2, aluminum processing area 16 km2 and supporting area 12 km2. Relying on Southwest Aluminum Group, the park centralizes high-new technology and emphasizes aluminum intensive processing industry, making great efforts to realize three targets of ¡°Building the Aluminum Processing City, Establishing the New Base of Chongqing¡¯s Industry and Constructing the Advantageous Group of Chongqing Western New City¡±.
¡¡ Since the start-up in 2003, the park has put great emphasis on infrastructure, investments-absorbing and industrial projects construction, maintaining sound development. Up to the end of 2007, with total investments of nearly 1 billion, the park has built up roads of different levels almost 20 km from 16 meters to 44 meters, the industrial park 2 km2 and is pushing the construction of processing area 16 km2 and supporting area 12 km2. Now there are nearly 40 enterprises with total contract value about 7.5 billion. When they all put into production, the expected output value per year will achieve 24 billion. Among these projects over 20 are related to aluminium processing, with total investments about 6.5 billion and expected output value over 20 billion. 87% investments and 90% output value in the park are from aluminium processing industry, which can form an industrial concentration area with aluminium processing output ability of 0.9 million tons when all these projects put fully into production. In 2006, the park achieved industrial output value 6.03 billion and tax 112 million, ranking among top ten characteristic industrial parks of Chongqing. In 2007, the park achieved industrial output value 12.567 billion, industrial added value 1.837 billion and profit 1.237 billion, with growth rates of 95%, 80% and 277% respectively compared to 2006.
¡¡ Chongqing People¡¯s Government signed a cooperation contract with China Aluminum Group on March 11, 2006. The two parties plan to make Chongqing an aluminum processing city of China, which will have first-class equipments and technology, the biggest output scale, more accomplished industrial chain, highly concentrated industries, complete supporting facilities and international competitive power. On October 10, 2007, Chongqing¡¯s deputy mayor Tong Xiaoping held a subject conference on the construction of China¡¯s aluminium processing city, deciding to upgrade Chongqing Xipeng Industrial Park directly under municipal management and to change its name into Chongqing Xipeng Aluminium Industrial Zone, enjoying the same favorable policies with Changshou Chemical Park and Konggang New Town. Aluminum industry will become another pillar industry of Chongqing after motorcycle and chemical; China¡¯s Aluminium Processing City, Chongqing Xipeng Aluminium Industrial Zone, will become another industrial namecard of Chongqing. £¨More about Chongqing Xipeng Aluminium Industrial Zone £© |
