(CQNEWS) The average drug price has decreased by 27.34% and the outpatient amount of the primary medical organizations has increased since the pilot start of the basic drug system in Feb. 2010.

The total drug sales of the primary medical organizations in the first batch of 15 pilot districts and counties had realized 386 million yuan by the end of Sept. 2010, with drug price averagely down 27.34%.

Chongqing will formally start the second batch of pilot work in 11 districts and counties like Wansheng, Shuangqiao, Changshou, etc. from Nov. 1, 2010 on. Chongqing will also add 200 kinds of drug to the current basic drug list. (Translated by Tan Hongxia, Fathom Language International)
