CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- At 13:00 on May 8th, the ten-thousand-ton-class river-sea direct ship "Innovation No. 5" sailed into Fengjie County. This marks the first time a ten-thousand-ton-class sea vessel has entered Chongqing.

The "Innovation No. 5" is carrying over 5400 tons of imported grain. It set sail from Zhoushan Port in Zhejiang on April 24th, taking the new direct river-sea route "Chongqing-Zhoushan" and arrived in Chongqing after a 15-day journey. The "Chongqing-Zhoushan" direct river-sea route is the first of its kind in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River.

It is reported that under the traditional model, after the river-sea direct ship arrives at the middle reaches of the Yangtze River from Zhoushan, it is then transported to the upper reaches of the Yangtze River in the Sichuan-Chongqing region via river vessels, which usually takes about 35 days.
