"Er Shun", one of the two pandas China agreeing to loan to Canada for a 10-year research program, is leaving Chongqing for Canada today.

The Chongqing Zoo, home of the 5-year-old female panda, specially held a farewell party for the lovely creature.

"Er Shun" is currently in a decent condition with a weight of 97 kilograms, and it will be kept "unwashed” before arriving the new home in case of any maladjustment, according to a breeder of the zoo.

It will live with "Da Mao", the other male panda from Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, in the Toronto Zoo and the Calgary Zoo over the next ten years. (CQNEWS)(Translated by Zhang Yi)
