CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Chongqing received 14.9525 million tourists and earned 5.576 billion yuan from tourism during the May Day holiday, up 12.36% and 13.17% respectively from a year earlier, according to the news on May 1, 2013.

Chongqing launched over 40 tourist events during the holiday.

Suburban tourism was the most favored. The just opened Loca Soy Theme Park in Yongchuan District welcomed 37,400 tourists, realizing a tourist revenue of 7.724 million yuan.

In addition, over 90,000 visitors chose hot springs.

No accidents were reported in Chongqing during the holiday.
