CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Nie Haotie, a native of Chongqing, in 2012 spent only 40,000 yuan visiting 11 countries in Asia, Africa and Europe. Nie has experienced a lot during the 165-day trip.

The first step is always the most difficult

Nie started this long and tough journey on August 28, 2012, which was regarded as an auspicious day.

Nie said that the movie Trainspotting had triggered this travel plan. "I love traveling so much and I have been to all the provinces of my country except five ones."

He worked at a foreign-funded firm in Chongqing, with an enviable salary. However, he decided to resign in order to make his dream come true.

A colorful experience

Nie has spent seven RMB on a warm sweater at a flea market in Tbilisi, capital and also the largest city of Georgia.

He made two new friends when he stayed in Amritsar, one of the largest cities of the Punjab state in India.

"Pakistani people have paid dinners for me many times just because I am from China," said Nie. "I am so happy I can finish this long and tough journey, which has brought me unforgetable experience."
