CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Chongqing and Ethiopia sought further cooperation in economy and trade during their discussion at the Chongqing-Ethiopia Economic and Trade Forum in Chongqing on August 13, 2011.

Huang Qifan, Mayor of Chongqing Municipality, said that Chongqing will increase the investment in Africa and enhance its economic and trade relations with Ethiopia by cooperation in five aspects.

First, try to open the direct flight from Chongqing to Addis Ababa in one year; second, establish consulate for the convenience of citizens' traveling to promote the communication between Chongqing and Ethiopia; third, work together on the construction of development area; fourth, encourage more light industrial and textile enterprises to invest in Ethiopia; fifth, the "8 Big Investment Companies" in Chongqing may participate in the investment and construction by all means since Ethiopia is in large demand for building infrastructure.
