Yuxin'ou Railway operates 80 trains

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Yuxin'ou (Chongqing-Xinjiang-Europe) International Railway has operated 77 freight trains and transported 6,692 containers up to July 20.
The railway is expected to run 2 trains per day at the end of 2015 and its travel duration will be reduced from 16 to 13-14 days.
Yuxin'ou Railway, known as the New Silk Road and the 3rd Eurasian Continental Bridge, achieves the normalized operation of 1 to 2 trains every week at present.
The railway operated 17 freight trains during the first half of 2013, up 21.4% year on year; the volume of foreign trade hit 1,528 containers with a year-on-year increase of 22.2%.
The railway plans to operate one train for non-IT cargos very week in the near future, said Yang Liqiong, deputy director of Chongqing Economy & Informationization Commission.
