CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- In the near future citizens will begin to see more and more helicopters dotting the Chongqing skies.

Following a trial flight in Fengjie County, Chongqing General Aviation Company Limited (CQGA) recently rented a helicopter to a new couple for their "wedding in the air" during the National Day holiday, according to CQGA on October 8.

"For a bridegroom with substantial wealth, to pick up the bride with a helicopter instead of sedan is certainly a more romantic ceremony." The person in charge of CQGA implied this "wedding in the air" to be a trial for the expanding helicopter market.

The helicopter used in the wedding was a Enstrom 480B, an American brand acquired by Chongqing Helicopter Investment Co. For the time being, Wulong and some other districts and counties are also negotiating with CQGA to promote tourist projects involving helicopter flights.

With Chongqing having opened up low-altitude airspace, the local general aviation industry is undergoing accelerated development. Chongqing Helicopter Investment Co. and Liangjiang Aviation Industry Investment Group are planning to expand the helicopter emerging market. In the future, more Chongqing-made helicopters will be serving in fields such as aerial photography, aerial forest fire protection, power line patrol, and medical aid.
