Chinese intangible cultural heritage in the Louvre

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The 19th World Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition in Paris, France concluded in the Carrousel Hall du Louvre on November 10th, 2013.

Illusion, a work created by Fu Wenjun – a famous conceptual photography artist, received extensive attention at the exhibition. The work printed pictures of the Dazu Rock Carvings on Rongchang grass cloth by means of special technique.

Fu Wenjun is the executive VP of World Chinese Art Exhibition Committee and national level photographer.

“During the creation process, I printed pictures of the Dazu Rock Carvings, such as Thousand-Hand Kwan-yin, on Rongchang grass cloth, one of the national intangible cultural heritages in Chongqing, with the aim of combining ancient culture of Chongqing with modern art forms and presenting it on the world stage.” ,Fu said.

European critics have heaped praise on Illusion. Illusion received extensive attention from the media after the display at the exhibition. Media outlets such as The People’s Daily, Xinhua News Agency, European Times, China News Agency in Paris, the Chinese Channel of Phoenix Television and local media in Paris have all interviewed Fu.
