TALLINN, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- An original piece by the famous Spanish artist Salvador Dali has been stolen from the Museum of New Art in Parnu, the third largest city in southwestern Estonia, local press reported Tuesday.

The stolen piece was entitled "Fuente de Vida," a gold plaque impression. It was part of a collection of Dali works in metal, ceramic and lithography.

The exhibit's French organizer, the art society Sarl Amiencom, bore the loss of an estimated 2,100 euros (2,835 U.S. dollars). The artwork is said to have been stolen on Oct. 3.

Original works by the Spanish surrealist artist Dali were on display in Estonia for the first time in an exhibition titled "Materialization of the surreal" from Sept. 5 to Oct. 7.
