Yinchuan to protect natural landscape along Yellow River

BEIJING, Nov. 20 (Xinhuanet) -- The government of Yinchuan city, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, has passed a law to protect the natural landscape on both sides of the Yellow River, covering an area of 314 square kilometers.

The total length of the east side is 97 kilometers and the west side, 87 kilometers, within the city, according to Zhang Jianli, Deputy Director of Yinchuan Water Resources Bureau.

Taking the Yellow River as the axis, Yinchuan classified natural landscape on the two sides into first and second-class protection zone.

The first-class protection zone mainly focuses on protecting the Yellow River, beaches, wetlands, vegetations, forests, wild birds, fish and other ecosystem.

Farmlands, ditches, tree belts, fruit-bearing forests are the objects protected in the second-class protection zone.
