Qingtongxia makes effort to develop traditional industries

BEIJING, Nov. 20 (Xinhuanet) -- The Qingtongxia city of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region has taken sweeping measures to promote new energy, chemical industry, metallurgy, agricultural and sideline products processing, the four traditional industries in the recent years.

The city has already built wind and optical energy industry, with an installed capacity of 550,000 kilowatt hours, taking up 13.3 percent of the city’s total installed power capacity.

Also, the set Moslem rice meal produced by Qingtongxia was favored at the China-Arab States Expo. Some 3,000 packages were sold daily during the event.

Still, the agricultural and sideline products processing industry grew fast from 2011 to 2013, boasting an increase of 30 percent.
