December 30, 2013: The train from Lijia to Beibei pulling in at Longfengxi Station

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- From 7:30 a.m. on December 31st, 2013, residents in Beibei District will be able to take rail transit line 6, the section from Lijia to Beibei. The city's rail transit has reached a mileage of 170km and has covered all nine districts in the main urban area.

The 26.2-kilometre-long section is comprised of a channel and viaduct, starting from Lijia in the New North Zone and ending at Wulukou in Beibei District. It sets eight stations, and during the trial operation, it opens five of them, Jinshansi, Caijia, Longfengxi, Zhuangyuanbei and Beibei, while the other three, Caojiawan, Xiangjiagang and Tiansheng are not yet open.

The operation timeframe during the trial period is 7:30-20:30. It takes approximately 47 minutes from Hongqihegou to Beibei, within which the Lijia-Beibei section takes 28 minutes.
