CHONGQING (CQNEWS) Shiji Jiayuan website published the ‘Investigation Report on Chinese Men and Women’s Attitudes towards Love and Marriage in 2013-2014’ on January 6, 2014. According to the report, on average, men in China spend 1,591 yuan on their girlfriend, and Chongqing ranked 20th with an average consumption of 1,518 yuan, accounting for 32% of their income.

97,594 people with 72,660 valid samples participated in the investigation, including 35,047 samples from men and 37,613 from women; 2,538 people in Chongqing were involved.

As for the amount of money spent, Zhejiang, Beijing and Shanghai ranked in the top three, with the average expense of 1,805, 1,789 and 1,766 yuan, respectively taking up 32%, 29% and 28% of their income.
