BEIJING, June 24 (Xinhuanet) -- The spate of violent attacks this year in Xinjiang has prompted the regional government to launch a year-long crackdown on May 23 to fight terrorists.

So far, police in Xinjiang say they have busted 32 terror groups, caught over 380 suspects and sentenced 315 people.

They have also confiscated explosive devices, bomb-making materials, computers and discs storing religious extremist content.

Six police officers have been killed since the crackdown began. More than 10 others have been injured.
