CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On 9th July, the Chongqing State Council approved the establishment of a new automobile import entry point of CBU (complete built unit). It represents another important platform, approved by the State Council, after the opening of the last Chongqing railway entry point. It is also the furthest inland Western regional CBU entry point established in Chongqing.

The CBU automobile import entry point refers to a specified port allowed to import directly from abroad. At present, there are a total of 14 CBU import entry points in the country, 11 of which mainly distribute to the East coast of China including cities such as Beijing, Tianjin, Dalian, Shanghai, Huangpu, Qinzhou, Fuzhou, Qingdao, Zhangjiagang, Ningbo and Shenzhen. There are also three inland ports; Manzhouli, Alashankoy (Xinjiang) and Horgos.

The most important import entry points remain Tianjin, Shanghai and Guangzhou, which have benefitted from the advantage of sea transportation. However, authorization of Chongqing’s CBU automobile import entry point instead relies on inland railway and is more efficient for European trade utilizing the Yuxinou rail route between Chongqing, Xinjiang and Europe.
