CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Wanzhou Airport has announced it is due to open its first international airline, Chongqing to Hong Kong, by early 2015.

Wanzhou Airport already has ten domestic airlines in operation including Chongqing to Beijing, Kunming, Shenzhen, Shanghai and other major cities. The airport’s first step is to transform the original domestic terminal into one of international standards, while also lengthening its runway to 2,800m. In order to meet the requirement of an international airport, it will also set up a larger departure hall and office space for border defense, customs, inspection and quarantine.
