Liuzhou reconstructs transportation system

Liuzhou citizens can travel to Guangzhou by high-speed rail and fly to Qingdao and Xi'an, all starting this year.

Liuzhou has invested 9.93 billion yuan ($1.59 billion) in railway construction in 2014. The full distance of Liuzhou's railway is 548km, including 133km of newly developed high speed rail.

Liuzhou is also developing its highways which stretch over 240km so far. Five highway projects are under construction, such as Yangshuo-Luzhai, Guilin-Sanjiang and Sanjing-Liuzhou highways. In the next four years, six highway projects will be started.

As for air routes, Liuzhou is hoping to add flights to Beijing, and has already started new services to cities such as Qingdao, Xi'an and Haikou. Liuzhou airport plans to achieve a passenger throughput of 600,000 this year and one million next year to make Liuzhou airport a second tier airport in China.
