E-commerce giants gather in ITL

Xi’an International Trade and Logistics Park in the city of Xi’an, Shaanxi province, received representatives from e-commerce giants on July 8, Xi’an Daily reported. They held a cooperation meeting regarding electronic trade projects.

Apart from officials from government departments, such as Xi’an’s customs and Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau of Shaanxi province, the participants also includes representatives from each link of the e-commercial support system, such as China Merchants Bank and China Construction Bank (capital), Shaanxi Post and Express Company and Changan International Train (logistics), representatives of e-commerce companies including Alibaba, JD, GOME, Dangdang and Shanghai Yi Angel Ecommerce (information).

Early on July 7, Shaanxi governor Lou Jian, met with Wang Jian, the chief technical officer of Alibaba, and they expressed the hope for deeper cooperation. At the meeting, Hong Dongsheng, vice president of JD group, also explained that their sales volume grew very fast in Xi’an, proving that it was a good choice to set up an operation center in the city.

As the first batch of e-commerce demonstration zones, the park not only provided an investment environment for e-commerce enterprises, but also laid the foundation for the development of cross border e-commerce. It had also founded support facilities for e-commerce, such as networking and a bonded zone.

It is estimated that based on the park’s cross border e-commerce service platform, by 2018, Shaanxi’s total e-commerce trading volume will achieve 200 billion yuan ($32.21 billion) and the sales volume of online shopping will exceed 380 billion yuan.

As an emerging industry, e-commerce will expedite a batch of new enterprises, and the park will provide a platform for young people to start up their own businesses.
