1st Apple retail store in Chongqing opens

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Chongqing's new three-floor glass Apple store has certainly attracted the attention of iFans across the city. At 10 am last Saturday morning, the first Apple retail store in Chongqing officially opened in Paradise Walk with free limited edition T-shirts to be distributed amoung the store's first customers.

According to Denny Tuza, Apple's senior director of retail business in greater China, the glass wall is around 11 metres tall, the highest of all the Asian stores. It is made up of nine 11-metre panels with the signature Apple logo affixed to the middle, overhead the main entrance.

The store is divided into two sections, a product experience area and accessory sales area. The experience area can hold up to 150 people and is separated into different sections categorized by iPod, iPhone, Mac computer and iPad. The signature ‘Genius bar’ allows seating for 24 people, providing a number of services including repair and guidance. The accessory sales area sells speakers, Mac accessories, earphones, and data lines.

The store's staff are composed of men and women from all over the country, including both experts and freshmen, offering services to customers worldwide in eight different languages. In addition to the sale of products, the staff are also responsible for assisting customers in solving privacy settings, technology support, product maintenance and other personal problems.
