Chongqing (CQNEWS) Lifan Industry stated on Tuesday that their Russian-based factories have now been reduced to just two active regions, one of which remains in Moscow. As a result, Russia is considering the provision to Lifan, of import processes similar to bonded warehouses.

The Lifan cars sold in Russia are currently assembled by Ciscaucasia-based DERVEIS with output reaching around 20,000 cars each year. Last year, sales volume exceeded 27,000, becoming the highest among all Chinese auto brands. Products with high volume sales included both the X60 and 620.

Following the rise in sales and brand recognition, the building of a local factory has become a priority. According to informed sources, proposed investment in the factory is set to reach over 200 million dollars with planned production of over 50,000 cars per year.
