Chongqing's Meteorological authorities on Thursday issued its first orange alert for a downpour this year.

The downpour came on Monday morning, bringing torrential rain to regions, the city’s meteorological center said.

Over 20 districts and counties of the city have experienced heavy rainfall. The center warned of flooding in regions and landslides in mountain areas.
