CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On 16th August, Chongqing Gallery unveiled its new exhibition, 'Chinese Ink Painting of 1980s'. Co-hosted by Chongqing Gallery and the Shanghai Himalaya Museum, the exhibition aims to present the unique charm of Chinese traditional ink painting.

"The exhibition vividly reveals the development of Chinese contemporary ink painting. Chinese artists only truly began to experience breakthroughs in traditional ink painting since the 1980s," said Pang Maokun, the executive curator of Chongqing Gallery and the vice-dean of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute. Meanwhile, the Shanghai Himalaya Museum has taken the responsibility of reviewing and classifying 1980s experimental ink work both through literature and theoretical research.
