In order to accelerate the broadband construction in China, the central government released a “Broadband China” strategic plan last August, targeting to realize full broadband network coverage by 2020.

China planned to construct seven backbone network nodes including Chongqing apart from the three existing ones in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.

Chongqing’s average peak Internet speed is expected to reach 737.4KB/S in 2015, up 14% as compared with this year, according to a broadband speed overview released by Xunlei.
