The Liuzhou Military Museum has finished reconstruction and opened to the public on Sept 3, the national anniversary of China’s victory in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. The upgraded museum has added a series of new collections such as realistic oil paintings and electronic sand tables. It is the largest military museum in Southwest China and one of eight national theme parks for military education.

Reconstruction began in May, taking three months to finish. The reconstruction changed the structure of the museum and enlarged it from 600 square meters to 1,800 square meters. It also added new exhibitions to the museum, such as a geographic exhibition hall of national defense. The new electronic sand tables can show visitors the Hundred Regiments Battle using a high-tech display technique.

The upgraded museum is open to Liuzhou residents for free from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm every day except Monday. More exhibition halls will be built next year to improve military education in Liuzhou.
