CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- According to news on September 21st, Rail Transit Lines 5 and 10 will be put into operation by the end of 2017, vastly improving public transportation across the city.

Chongqing China Railway Construction Investment Co., Ltd. is now fully responsible for the construction and management of Chongqing Metro Line 5 and 10. Forty-four stations will be established along the two lines with a total length of about 73km, and a total project cost of about 40 billion yuan.

As to the first phase of Line 5, starting from the Garden Expo Center Station and ending at Tiaodeng Station, the line is set to run through Yubei, Jiangbei, Yuzhong, Shapingba, Jiulongpo and Dadukou Districts. The line will extend to 39.66km and encompass 25 stations, including 20 underground and five elevated stations.

As to the first phase of Line 10, it will start from Liyuchi Station and end in Wangjiazhuang Station, running through Nan'an, Yuzhong, Jiangbei, New North Zone and Yubei Districts.
