Chongqing cultivating entrepreneurship

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- According to a recent report from the Chongqing Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau (CQHRSS) on September 28th, around 5,000 college students start businesses in Chongqing every year, a entrepreneurship rate of around 3%. Aiming at the issues of entrepreneurship for college students, Chongqing is striving to create a positive environment through innovating financing channels, establishing training systems and upgrading entrepreneurship services. The report stated that from 2014 to 2017, Chongqing plans to lead 23,000 college students into entrepreneurship.

According to officials of the CQHRSS, in terms of financial support, college graduates can benefit from small loans of up to 10,000 yuan as well as financial discounts accordingly. From January to August this year, loans adding up to 33.39 million yuan have been issued to a total of 364 college graduates. Moreover, Chongqing has introduced social capital and combined with Western China Human Resources Development Foundation and Oceanwide Public Welfare Foundation to subsidize 2.87 million yuan for 95 outstanding college students' entrepreneurship programs.

In relation to start-up locations, from January to September this year, Chongqing has already built nine municipal college students' entrepreneurship demonstration centers. The city has also provided a total of 6.67 million yuan for one-time rent subsidies and employment promoting incentive grants, while also providing various entrepreneurship services, including license agents, entrepreneurship training, financing, counseling and information consulting.
