A delegation from the National Development and Reform Commission visited the Xi’an International Trade and Logistics Park in Shaanxi province on Sept 18 in the company of officials from Shaanxi province and the Xi’an municipal development and reform commissions.

Under the lead of Li Yingming, an official with the national commission, the delegation visited the Xi’an Bonded Zone, the Railway Container Center, and the Northwestern Logistics Center of Modern Medicine.

Li spoke highly of the park’s planning and industrial structure, and encouraged the park to take on its historic responsibility to build itself into a new starting point of the Silk Road Economic Belt. She also expressed confidence that the park will become a powerful engine for the construction of the belt in Shaanxi province and Northwest China.

The park has formed an inland port model featuring on-the-spot order processing, sea and railway transportation, and seamless operational connections.

The Chang'an international freight rail has also become a gold channel connecting Europe and Asia, offering convenient and effective logistics for trade between Europe and Asia.

With the development of the Xi'an international hub, the city will become a cargo distribution center for trade between China, East and South Asia, and ASEAN countries, as well as Central Asia and Europe.
