Chongqing to Zhengzhou in less than 5 hours

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- According to the Chongqing Transport Commission on October 10th, the National Development and Reform Committee (NDRC) has approved proposals for a new Zhengzhou-Wanzhou railway, expecting the Chongqing section of the railway to initiate construction next year.

The Zhengzhou-Wanzhou railway will be a 785 km long, double-track passenger line, starting from Zhengzhou and passing through Pingdingshan, Nanyang, Xiangyang (Hubei Province), Wushan, Fengjie, Yunyang and finally terminating at Wanzhou.

The line is to be one section of the Beijing-Kunming Railway Channel, while also an important part of the Zhengzhou-Chongqing railway. The construction of the Chongqing-Wanzhou railway finished completion at the end of 2012, leading from Chongqing North Railway Station, passing through Yubei, Jiangbei, Changshou, Dianjiang, Liangping to Wanzhou North Railway Station where it connects with the Zhengzhou-Wanzhou line.
