CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- According to news on Sunday, the first professional food e-commerce platform (5ivp.com) in Southwest China, built by Chongqing, was officially launched. The platform will open a new channel for Chongqing’s spicy and delicious food.

Surveys show that the leisure food market in China has been expanding at an annual rate of around 25%, with commerce platforms such as taobao and yhd.com contributing the most to this increase. However, food enterprises in both Chongqing and the entire southwest region are still lacking a proper e-commerce platform. Most of these enterprises have a good reputation and sales performance in their native cities, but their marketing channels are too simple, unable to expand the marketing of their brands and making it hard to keep a foothold in other regions. 5ivp.com has now been constructed in order to gather all the food enterprises in Southwest China and together help them towards e-commerce success and bring spicy food to more people across the nation.

The website, initiated by the Chongqing Food Association, has already attracted 50 exclusive authorized suppliers so far, covering products such as cooked beef, chicken, duck, fish and rabbit, puffed food, as well as roasted seeds and nuts, all specialties in Southwest China. The brands are all unique and have healthy markets across Southwest China in regions such as Laochuandong, Zhimaguan, Qiaotou and Dezhuang. (Translated by Wang Yueyue, Fathom Language Limited)
