'Sino-Russian Youth Culture & Art Exchange Week' launches

Young Russians were learning paper-cutting at Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On October 20th, The 'Sino-Russian Youth Culture & Art Exchange Week' was launched at Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences. During the next week, many related activities will also be carried out, such as a landscape pictures exhibition, Chinese traditional craft experience and traditional Chinese cuisine experience.

In order to carry forward the long-standing Sino-Russian friendship and further promote mutual exchanges and cooperation in language and culture between Chinese and Russian teenagers, the 'Sino-Russian Youth Culture & Art Exchange Week', as part of the Sino-Russian Youth Friendly Exchange Year, has been an ongoing and important event in China for many years.

At the opening ceremony, college students from Southwest University took to the stage to perform traditional Chinese folk music - 'Ah Lili' as well as the Chinese Dragon and Lion Dance. The Russian delegation performed a classic song 'Katyusha' as well as ethnic dances. Five Russian overseas students from Sichuan International Studies University recited the poem – 'Waiting for Me' both in Chinese and Russian, expressing their feelings about Chongqing and China.
