The 'Monkey' created by Zhou Beixi

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- A preview of the '4th Bayu famous Calligraphy and Painting Biddind' was held in the Yan Jiyuan Art Museum (located at Liziba Anti-Japanese War Relics Park) the other day. The preview displayed a total of 170 exquisite paintings on four themes: Zhou Beixi, Lei Jiutai, 'Love of the Three Gorges' and 'Galaxy of Celebrities'.

While Zhou Beixi is known as the 'Sichuan Monkey King' with his lively monkey paintings, the contemporary landscape artist Lei Jiutai is a disciple of both Duan Xugu and Liang Baiyun and has mastered the art form.
