CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On 19th November, Chongqing Statistics Bureau released data for Chongqing's consumer goods market operation in the first three quarters of 2014. The city has achieved a total consumer goods retail sale of 370.569 billion yuan, a 13% year-on-year increase, in-line with the figure for the first half of the year.

Wholesale and retail drive the consumer goods market

Except for the influence of Spring Festival on the first two months of the year, bringing about a fluctuation to the consumer goods market, the year's other months saw moderate growth that kept above 12%.

Wholesale and retail have been playing a leading role in the consumer goods market that realized a sales value of 316.261 billion yuan, up 13.1% over last year.

Recovering housing market - slowing growth of auto products consumption

Household appliances and audiovisual products saw a 17.7% increase year on year, 3.4 percentage points over last year.
