When the city of Xi’an, capital of Shaanxi province, sent out a call for volunteers to help out residents in its Xincheng and Yanta districts, on Nov 15, there was a good enough response by providing medical consultation, hair cutting and traffic security services for the locals that they received a considerable amount of praise, Xinhuanet.com has reported.

One elderly lady who was getting her hair cut by a volunteer, told this reporter, “He’s not bad at the job, but what’s more important, he’s very patient,” then went on to say she hopes the volunteers can come more often to help out and chat with them.
