Gansu province held a tourism promotion at a fair in the city of Taipei, Taiwan, on Nov 8, with representatives of its Tourism Administration and more than 30 city travel agencies and companies taking part to explain Gansu’s tourism advantages and products.

Gansu had Qingyang sachets, Tibetan accessories from the Gannan region and special souvenirs on display, and explained the province’s Silk Road, the ancient business route to Central Asian and Europe that dates back to the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC- AD 24), as well as its grasslands, Loess Plateau and many other travel routes that attract a lot of visitors.

Organizers of the fair were the Association for Tourism across the Taiwan Straits and Taiwan Visitors Association.

This year, more than 25,000 Taiwanese have traveled to Gansu, and more than 30,000 Gansu residents have visited Taiwan, making Taiwan their first outbound travel choice.
