Global Entrepreneurship Week opens in Xi’an

The city of Xi’an, capital of Shaanxi province, opened its Global Entrepreneurship Week for 2014, on Nov 18, to give young start-ups a chance to share their experiences or learn more about starting a business, with the provincial vice-governor, Zhang Daohong, on hand to address the opening ceremony by saying that Xi’an is rich in science and technology and a good place to set up a technological business.

Zhang went on to say that he hopes the event, which comes with displays of wearable and smart equipment, speeches on various themes, and a summit and forum, can encourage young people to go out start their own businesses.

Global Entrepreneurship Week originated in the UK in 2004 has taken place in more than 150 countries, with China getting its first in 2008. More than 10 million young people have taken part in the gathering so it has become a great place for pioneering culture, entrepreneurship exchanges.
