Chestnut Lady selling her chestnuts

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- 21-year-old Liu Xia visits areas such as Ranjiaba, Dashiba and Guanyinqiao every night to sell chestnuts from her old-school basket. In the last two years, she has sold over 30 tonnes of chestnuts, and gained the name of 'Chestnut Lady' in Jiangbei and Yubei night market.

Liu Xia, from Ba'nan District, became a waitress after graduating from middle school. At the end of 2012, she got a part-time job selling chestnuts, receiving 2.5 yuan commission from each bag. Although she has been through many jobs, she always kept this part-time night job, with commission slowly increasing. She is now making over 10,000 yuan each month through selling chestnuts alone.

"Leaving the house at 6:00pm in the evening and getting home around 1:00am in the morning, it is very tiring to stand around all that time, but what’s worse is to deal with unreasonable customers," stated Liu Xia.
