The Model Show in Chongqing's Autumn Real Estate Fair

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Chongqing's modeling industry has been growing stronger in recent years, with three women standing out from its thousands of models to be the ultra-A-model of China Professional Model Commission. However, since the local market has not yet become fully developed, many model companies have found it difficult to survive, with professional models remaining very few, accounting for only 1/10 that enter the industry.

In 1984, Chongqing's first model team - Chongqing Youth Fashion Arts Performing Team was established, marking the formal rise of the city’s modeling industry.

In 1998, along with the launch of the First Chongqing Fashion Model Contest during the First Chongqing Fashion Festival, Chongqing’s modeling industry started to develop rapidly. Since then, major professional model competitions acknowledged by the China Professional Model Commission have established divisions in Chongqing in succession. In 2000, Chongqing's first model company was registered successfully, setting off the demutualization wave of the city’s modeling agencies.
