The 4th Yuzhong Ice and Snow Festival launched on Dec 12 at Xinglong Mountain, in Gansu province, it is going to run through to Feb 28. To celebrate the festival, Yuzhong county held three themed activities: the ice and snow, agriculture sightseeing, and Yuzhong food. Among these the ice and snow themed activities include competitions of snow sculptures and ski, as well as the fireworks party during the Lantern Festival.

The creators of the festival were the Yuzhong county government, tourism bureau and cultural department, who want to build the brand and promote the local tourism through various activities.
