The city of Xi’an, Shaanxi province, held the opening ceremony for its 1st Oriental Dance Contest, on Dec 28, after inviting some famous dancers, such as India’s Ahmed Refaat, South Korea’s Angela Kim, and China’s Belly Dance Queen, Wen Kexin, to come and share their moves and artistic concepts in a competitive way. The sponsor was the China Belly Dance Association, founded in Beijing in 2008 as a branch of the World Belly Dance Association.
