Many people of Yongjing county, in Gansu province visited the part of the Yellow River near their city, on Jan 3, to see the many black-headed gulls, a small bird that is common to Europe and Asia, because the county has become the ideal place for this specie of gulls to spend the winter in recent years.

The county has improved its ecology and environment and increased the environment protection awareness of its people making it quite popular for more migratory birds during the winter. The black-headed gulls also brought great fun to the locals, many of whom fed the birds, took photos, and got along very well with the special visitors.
