The city of Lanzhou, in Gansu province opened the 2015 Lanzhou Ice and Snow Festival on Jan 17th, with the Lanzhou Ski Challenge kicking off at the same time at the Xinglong Ski Resort, in Lanzhou city.

The Ski Challenge attracted more than 100 ski fans to take part in, with the youngest participant called Lele, only 12 years old, saying he has already skied for 6 years. The events included moguls and ski cross.

The competition was themed as "Red Bull warms the winter, Lanzhou Ski Challenge" with its sponsor being the Red Bull Co. subsidiary in Gansu province.

The ski challenge ended with Wu Yuan and Guo Ningquan taking first place in the ski cross competitions, and Wu Yuan and Ma Zhengyuan tied for the champions of the moguls.
