The International Trade and Logistics Park in Xi’an city, Shaanxi province, received a delegation from the central government on May 26. It was led by Vice Premier Wang Yang.

The group visited the park’s railway container center and inquired about Chang’an – an international freight train that operates between Xi’an and Central Asia. The delegates also learned about the development of the zone’s cross-border e-commerce industry and its plans for further construction work.

Wang Yang spoke highly of the park’s development progress and encouraged its representatives to speed up the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative. The initiative comprises of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road put forward by Chinese President Xi Jinping during his visit to Kazakhstan and Indonesia in 2013.
