CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On June 30th, Chongqing mayor Huang Qifan and visiting Valle d'Aosta president Augusto Rollandin signed the Memorandum of Understanding between the two regions.

Valle d'Aosta located in the northwest of Italy is a mountainous region with a typical Alpine mountain climate, and the tourism industry is one of the region's important economic sources.

Huang said Chongqing was the only municipality in Western China as well as one of China's five largest central cities. With increasingly frequent economic and trade cooperation and people-to-people exchange between Chongqing and Italy in recent year, the visiting of the president and the signing of the MOU will further promote the exchange and cooperation in such fields as economy and trade, tourism, and culture between the two parties.
