BEIJING, July 27 (Xinhua) -- China's top economic planner on Monday allocated 50 million yuan (8.2 million U.S. dollars) of emergency funds to an quake-stricken county in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

The National Development and Reform Commission said the funds will be used to support infrastructure restoration work.

The 6.5-magnitude quake shook Pishan County, inhabited largely by people of Uygur ethnicity, on July 3 and left three dead and 263 others injured.

The quake damaged 12,000 houses. More than 66,000 people have been evacuated.

The Xinjiang regional government has earmarked 20 million yuan (3.2 million U.S. dollars) for disaster relief. Those affected by the quake have received 1,500 tents, 2,000 quilts and 2,000 coats.
