Costumes made from grass cloth designed by YES’M AUTUMN

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On July 29th, according to Qi Tao, the brand founder of YES'M AUTUMN, YES'M AUTUMN will take a significant step for its brand development this year – marching towards the costume world. Meanwhile, the brand also plans to integrate and expand cultural tourism and develop the grass cloth cultural tourism route.

Founded in 2007, YES’M AUTUMN has brought Rongchang grass cloth – one of Chongqing's national-level intangible cultural heritage into the lives of modern people.

In this year’s May, YES’M AUTUMN's costumes debuted at Shenzhen Cultural Industries Fair, attracting widespread attraction.

Each costume designed by YES’M AUTUMN has a poetic name. These costumes made from materials such as grass cloth, linen, old course cloth, and silk have integrated such ancient crafts as Chaozhou embroidery and Brandebourg frag closing, making the folk culture come to life again.

Qi expressed YES’M AUTUMN also planned to create grass cloth tours so that "tourists who are interested in grass cloth not only can enjoy cultural creative products in Chongqing's main urban district, but also can go to the countryside of Rongchang to experience the authentic weaving craft of the Hakka Culture."

"In the countryside of Ronglong (a town in Rongchang), we have farmers who produce grass cloth, so tourists can experience the most primitive crafts such as twine ball rolling, thread pulling, button drawing-in, brushing, and weaving there; in Panlong, tourists not only can enjoy grass cloth products, but also can experience the weaving craft on the spot on the loom," said Qi, expressing that the grass cloth travel route is expected to be pushed out by the end of this year.

Note: Grass cloth is a time-honoured traditional handicraft of the Han people, which is a kind of linen weaved from ramie. As linen is often used for summer clothing (which is cool and comfortable), it is commonly known as grass cloth. Grass cloth made through unique traditional Han handicrafts including yarning and weaving and have been held as a traditional garment material for the Han people.
