Works of Russian meritorious artist's to appear at the Cultural Industry Expo

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- According to news released on September 5th, at the 2015 Chongqing Culture Industry Expo, paintings by Andrey Zaharo, an academic from the Russian Academy of Arts and Sciences and a Meritorious Artist will be on display.

According to Andrey, although he's been in China five times, this is his first time to be in Chongqing. "My paintings mainly depict sceneries, so I hope I can present the beautiful sceneries Chongqing (the Mountain City) in my paintings if that is possible."

In Andrey's view, Chongqing is an undeveloped art base, saying, "The painting industry is supposed to be very promising in Chongqing, so I hope more related activities can be held to provide more opportunities for Chongqing people to understand Russian paintings."

According to Xiong Qichao, vice president of the Sino-Russian International Trade & Culture Promotion Association, at the Culture Industry Expo, an exhibition hall of 100 square metres will display the works of Andrey and Chongqing's native artists. Among these works, 16 pieces themed on scenery, flowers and plants were created by Andrey and his wife Marina. It is known that all these works are for sale.

The 2015 Chongqing Culture Industry Expo, with a total exhibition area of nearly 50,000 square metres is themed on "exchange, transaction, and integration". The exhibitors invited by the expo cover: Chongqing's large state-owned cultural enterprises; key various districts and counties’ cultural achievements; internet and new media cultural enterprises; Chinese, foreign cultures and minority cultures tourism; jewellery and home culture; Taiwan food culture; micro enterprise culture; book printing and campus culture; museum and art collection; fine calligraphy and painting exhibitions; health culture; creative cultures such as car customization and trunk culture.
