Teachers from German Goethe Institute were spotted sorting out a part of the exhibits.

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) ON September 29th, The German "Touchable Math" Large-scale Interactive World Exhibition Tour formally landed at Chongqing Science & Technology Museum, which is the exhibition's first time to be on display in China.

The German Goethe Institute has specially selected 25 pieces of interactive exhibits from the German Gieben Museum of Mathematics – the world's first hands-on museum in the mathematical field for the exhibition of teaching math in a novel form.

"The "Touchable Math" Exhibition emphasizes making everyone experience math in an interactive manner, and the audience in any age group, regardless of educational level can have an interactive experience here," said a spokesperson of the Goethe Institute.

Among the exhibits, the most popular one is a fantastic soap capsule. At the exhibition, with moulds for blowing bubbles in such shapes as cubes and cylinders made of red iron wire soaked in the soap solution, it seemed that there was nothing special, but when taking it up, everyone could see that the soap solution did not adhere to the surfaces of the moulds, and different minimum surfaces were formed in different moulds. "This shows the algebra geometry knowledge that can only be learned in university," said the spokesperson.

The exhibition is set to last till November 1st, and the public can go to the temporary exhibition hall in the Chongqing Science & Technology Museum for a visit. (Translated by Tang Zhiqiang, Fathom Language Limited)
