As a main part in the 9th Delhi International Arts Festival, the Sichuan opera Jinzi was on show in New Delhi, the capital city of India on the evening of October 31st. This is also the first time for Sichuan opera to be on stage in India.

Started in 2007, the Delhi International Arts Festival is dubbed as the most important cultural feast across India. It is reported that a total of 35 countries have sent cultural troupes to partake in this year’s Delhi cultural event.

Liu Jingsong, envoy of the Chinese Embassy to India expressed that operas with local culture and traditions will be devoted to the cultural exchange and communication between China and India. (CQNEWS)
